Happy Halloween

What a beautiful day it was for Halloween! We were so excited that we were able to take the trio out to do a little trick-or-treating (okay, really just seeing our neighbors and getting a little candy for mom and dad).

A few things are new this week. On Wednesday morning I had to take Mady to the doctor. I was certain she had another ear infection because she had been pulling on her right ear all day Tuesday but thankfully this time it was just fluid on both ears (probably left over from the last ear infection as it can take up to a month to clear up) so Dr. Madison said it is probably truly teething this time! She is certainly acting like she's popping another tooth thru so that is most likely it. I mentioned to Dr. M. about Johnathan's weight and she was so happy to hear how well he's doing that she okayed starting to ween him to whole milk!! Their 15 month well baby is this Wednesday so we'll get the full stats/plan then. Johnathan has been eating so well lately, especially things that he can feed himself. In fact, he's eating so much that we've started reducing his bottles because he's too full to drink them all. I was wondering if this day would ever come for him and it's finally here! We are so proud of him with how well he's doing!

Other new things this week are that Mady is now up on her knees all the time at things and you can tell that she's pondering pulling to stand, she just hasn't decided to quite yet. She does love standing when we help her up, she just needs the confidence in herself. Mady is also doing much better with her looking to the left and is now crawling centered instead of hanging to the right and half-army crawling. Oh, and we think she might be left-handed! Johnathan has started letting go for 20-30 seconds when he's standing. Our Early On PT said on Friday that she thinks he'll be walking soon! Oh, and she said she's not at all worried about motor-wise - such great words to hear! Annabel has started picking up a few things off her tray with her right hand to feed herself which is SO exciting! She doesn't always make the visual contact first, usually just by touch but the fact that she's doing it is great! I took her in yesterday to get new glasses frames - she's gone up 2 sizes on the frame and her pupil to pupil distance has changed a lot too which has probably impacted why she hasn't been wanting to wear her glasses. The treadmill study person (Dale Ulrich) came to the house Thursday and he feels that she is ready so we now have an infant treadmill and Annabel gets to do 8 minutes worth of steps, 5 days a week. She does great initiating with her right foot as of now, her left should come with time and practice. I can't wait to see what all this can do for her. We are SO thankful for all the extra therapies we have been made aware of, whatever we can do to help our little miracles we will do.
