Halloween Fun and Misc. Other Stuff

Due to the craziness in our lives lately and the cruddy weather we’ve been experiencing we weren’t able to take the kids to the pumpkin patch to pick out their pumpkins this year. We did still get some though and this year the kids “participated” in the carving festivities! They were very curious about the cutouts, not quite able to figure it out!

Thankfully the wind decided to die down for Halloween eve so we were able to take the kids out trick-or-treating. My parents and my mother-in-law helped me since B.J. and his dad were out of town at the NASCAR race. The trio didn’t really understand any of it this year but were curious and Mady and Johnathan walked most of the route and were quite whooped by the time we came home! Our good friends the Shigley’s stopped by with their son Jonathan so we were able to hang out with them for awhile. It was so good to see them again!

This past weekend was a good one of the kids! On Sunday Annabel stood playing along the couch for a long time, unsupported and even took one step to start cruising!!! Annabel is loving her walker, she now wants to be up and moving which is so great to see! Tonight she had an excellent session at aqua therapy! She was kicking like crazy with both legs, stepping up out of the pool with her left foot leading, and she held on to the barbell with BOTH hands!! She loves music and dancing. Johnathan and Madelyn also love to dance (the cd player is almost always on in our house these days) and I was able to catch a video of them too.

The kids have been doing some pretty cute things lately. Mady is my little mommy, she attempts to put Annabel and Johnathan’s orthotics on her baby doll. Johnathan’s latest thing is to move all of their toys around and really enjoys putting them upside down. The things kids come up with!

All three kids have been eating much better lately, which is a huge relief! We received the results from Johnathan’s 3-day food intake study and with the carnation added to milk he is receiving 100% of his daily caloric needs and 100% of protein so we were told to keep up the good work, and he’s been eating better now then he was when we did the study! So in my mind, we will not be going to Boost, I am not about to decrease his eating of solids because of adding more calories to his liquid intake. Just wish he’d gain a few more lbs… I do have to say that the study made me feel better, I felt like I wasn’t doing something right for them but apparently I’m doing my job just fine!

In other news the kids and I finally received our H1N1 vaccine last Thursday. Just praying we don’t come down with anything before its taken effect! Now we just need to get B.J. vaccinated and I’ll feel a whole better about things!

Hi there!
We liked very much your last pictures!!!
Hope you enjoyed your halloween!
I want to update you about Angelica story.
This was my last message:

Angelica is born on 7th march 2009 of 24+1 week. She had laser surgeries, and as capone said, these surgeries were done well. Than we came to beaumont and after vitrectomies in both eyes he told us that both retinas reattached in the visual part... He expects vision... light, colours, shapes, movement! but what is this??? VISION!!! He was happy... Just after the vitrectomies the eyes of Angelica were frenetic, always in movement. Capone told us that this is normal and that the optical nerve was touched and stop his role. The movement would stop between 1 or 3 months after his last visit. At that point she begin to see, to gaze objects. Now it's about 1 month after his last visit and the eyes are not so frenetic. Now they are firmer, more stady... we are hoping. We stimulate her as they told us and tomorrow we are going to meet dr. Pignatto here in Italy who were there in beaumont with dr. Capone to learn his methods of work.

Then we went to dr. pignatto and she told us that both retinas are attached everywhere even if they are thin, The optical nerve is not so pink as it should be, it's a little bit pale. But Capone, after we communicate it to him, he reassure us and told us that for now it's normal.
We continue to stimulate her!!!
How went the visit of your Little Johnatan? They told you something about his vision?
Let me know.

Thank you al lot my friends... you help us very much and your kids are adorable! I am sad that we didn't met there... but we were firightened and we didn't think to anything else but Angies eyes when we were there... hope to read from you!

Andrea, Jolanda and little Angel Angelica.
