Thank you all very much for your prayers for Annabel! Thankfully she did not have a long hospital stay and was discharged Friday afternoon. The whole ordeal was quite scary though, I truly couldn’t believe that she was sating as low as she was when we took her in. Her initial oxygen requirements were 3.5 liters, down to not needing any oxygen by Friday morning. The attending was pleasantly surprised with how quickly she bounced back, stating what a difference a year makes in growth for how she responded, that she wouldn’t have rebounded nearly so quickly a year ago. She has now finished her steroid treatment course and is doing a lot better. She is still getting albuterol treatments and is back on daily flovent for the winter. It will be part of her care plan to start her back on flovent each winter, taking her off in the summer for a few years yet. She resumed her first therapy yesterday, going to aqua and although she did tire sooner than normal she was happy to be back at it!
Because she came home yet on Friday I was still able to go to my scrapbooking weekend (it was right around the corner from our house so I could slip home if needed). My husband was the best allowing me to go, I really needed it! I had been looking forward to spending time with some of my good friends and getting some paged completed for a long time! This weekend B.J. gets his break when he goes to Talladega for the NASCAR race with his dad.
