I'm not sure if you've been following the Stansel Journey blog that's linked on the right but if not, please take a moment to read about their family and to say a prayer for their 3 surviving girls (3 of 6). Little Ashlyn is having a very hard time with many similar issues as Johnathan had however it appears that she may not pull thru, please pray for a miracle. Hayley is having bowel problems and will be having surgery tomorrow, please pray for guidance for the surgeon and for a strong healing process for her. Rachel is overall doing the best but it appears that she may be coming down with another infection (you all know how many times our kiddos nose-dived fighting those) so please pray that if she is that she recovers well too. Please also pray for strength and guidance for the parents, Amanda and Thomas for we know all too well the hard times they are facing.
In addition, please pray for B.J.'s Grandma, Grandma Years who went in to the hospital last night with congestive heart failure. As of last night she is stable and doing pretty well, pray that she continues to fight thru and that his winter isn't too hard on her. She will be 87 the 30th of this month.

Hey, I found your message on your last post of july...
Thank you for your pray!
Dr. Capone said to us that we arrived there in the period he wanted.
He did vitrectomies in both eyes and he told us that the central part of retina and even some lateral parts attached in both of them and took the shape of the macula yet.
After 15 day of surgery she reacts to light.
Capone said to us that he is very happy of how things went on for Angelica and he told us even that he expects functions for her eyes. What do you think?
How did it go with Johnatan?
Does he see well?
Thank you very much for your support!
Andrea, Jolanda and Angelica
I think that is great news that she has responded to light and that Dr. Capone had positive feedback! There is a lot that can be done these days if needed!
Our opthamologist says that it is still questionable as to if Johnathan will have any visual issues but he seems to be doing well, developing appropriately. We are having a vision consultant come to the house within the next few weeks to do some tests with him to tell what he is/isn't seeing so that will give us a better idea of his status.
oh great!
But from your pics and vids I can see that Jonathan can see very well, he seems to be indipendent, with no problems! isn't it?
Please keep me informed and I'll do the same with my little Angelica!
Bye my friends!
Andrea Cominini
Please try to answer to all my questions of my last message and even of this one?
At how many weeks Your jonathan did vitrectomies?
how long you had to wait to understand he began to see?
Thx
Andrea Cominini
Andrea,
He was right around 43 weeks gestation when he had the victrectomies(remember they were born at 26 weeks), so about 17 weeks old.
Because of how well the victrectomies went as well as the follow-up appointments we weren't real concerned with his vision at the time, we knew he'd need glasses but believed that he'd be able to see normally with correction. He appears to do quite well to us, even without his glasses we believe he is seeing, so I would still be shocked if he's not able to drive, etc. We should know more once the vision consultant comes to the house, not sure when that is yet. I will be sure to update you then. How are things going for Angelica?
Jamie
Angelica is born on 7th march 2009 of 24+1 week. She had laser surgeries, and as capone said, these surgeries were done well. Than we came to beaumont and after vitrectomies in both eyes he told us that both retinas reattached in the visual part... He expects vision... light, colours, shapes, movement! but what is this??? VISION!!! He was happy... Just after the vitrectomies the eyes of Angelica were frenetic, always in movement. Capone told us that this is normal and that the optical nerve was touched and stop his role. The movement would stop between 1 or 3 months after his last visit. At that point she begin to see, to gaze objects. Now it's about 1 month after his last visit and the eyes are not so frenetic. Now they are firmer, more stady... we are hoping. We stimulate her as they told us and tomorrow we are going to meet dr. Pignatto here in Italy who were there in beaumont with dr. Capone to learn his methods of work.
Thank you al lot my friends... you help us very much and your kids are adorable! I am sad that we didn't met there... but we were firightened and we didn't think to anything but Angies eyes when we were there... hope to read from you!
Andrea, Jolanda and Angelica.
