Another Crazy Week

This has been another crazy week for us. I don't think I mentioned before but about two weeks ago we started really noticing that Annabel was crossing her eyes intermittently, mostly when you held things up close to her or lower than her line of vision. The babies are all due to see Dr. Archer again in early May so I called last week to see if they could get her in sooner but they are so overbooked there that the earliest they were scheduling was July! So I did some research and learned that this something that you definitely want to treat as early as possible so luckily for us one of the doctors in the clinic lives in our sub so I called him, explained the situation and he talked to Dr. Archer, the next thing I knew they scheduled for me to bring her in today - what a relief! So we went today and basically we learned that there are two reasons why a baby goes cross-eyed. One is that they are farsighted so glasses would correct them and eventually they wouldn't need the glasses or that the brain isn't sending the appropriate signals to the eye muscles - this reason requires surgery (I believe 3-4 surgeries). It's not 100% sure yet but because Annabel is intermittent with her crossing thus far, and based on what Dr. Archer saw today, he believes that she is the first case and is farsighted. We pray this is the case because as I mentioned glasses will correct it and we will see a change pretty quickly! So our little 11 pounder is getting glasses! She will get them next Friday and they will be a lightpink wire frame, they're actually pretty cute - I will definitely post pictures!!

Our girls - Annabel and Madelyn

Yesterday we had the babies follow-up in the neonatal clinic because they were in the NICU for so long, they follow them for a few years to track their developmental progress. Needless to say they were very happy with the progress of the babies and thus far they are right on track to their corrected age - yeah! There are a few little things to work on but nothing was a surprise to us so that was good. The best part was that we got to see two of the doctors who followed them pretty closely in the NICU and after the appointment we stopped by the NICU and almost all of their primary nurses were on so it was fun to see everyone! Everybody couldn't believe how great they look and commented that they could tell they were getting bigger in the pictures but until they saw them in person they didn't realize how big they actually are. It was interesting being out and about yesterday, we definitely draw a lot of attention, especially with the triplet stroller!

Happy kids at yesterday's appointment.

Tomorrow Early On OT and PT come and the in the afternoon we have to take Mady and Johnathan for synagis shots and lucky Annabel gets to tag along. It's actually good she's coming because her blood pressure was a little high yesterday but once the doctors came in it wasn't mentioned and we forgot so we definitely want to ask the pediatrician tomorrow - we pray there's nothing to be concerned of regarding this!

Annabel was really tired the other day and cuddled right up to Johnathan.

Things they've been doing lately:
Annabel (11 lbs 5ozs) - bringing her hand to her bottle, finding her feet yesterday, and getting closer and closer to sitting up by her herself

Mady (9 lbs 1 1/2ozs) - doing much better feeding and is growing well, holds great conversations, doing great with reaching for and holding on to toys, and improving with lifting her head

Johnathan (10 lbs 11ozs) - looking really well to his left, responding well with his hearing aids, and making many movements that has me convinced once his harness is off we will see many advancements from him
