What a week!

This week was pretty busy but overall everything went really well. I took Johnathan on Tuesday for his harness adjustment and they gave him a new harness - this was such a relief because his current one was getting SO smelly! His next appointment with an ultrasound is the Thursday before Easter. Dr. Caird thinks he'll be able to go down to just wearing the harness at night at that time, and will need to wear it another 3-6 weeks. We will be so happy to get him out of it during the day because he is showing signs that once it's off he should be rolling and lifting his head, etc. with no problem!

On Thursday the babies also had their 2nd flu vaccine and Mommy and Daddy got the TDap booster so the whole family was poked! We also hooked Mady up to oxygen monitor while feeding her and she initially desated to 93 but then came back up and held constant at 98 so we can check the box that her oxygen sats are not a problem - what a relief!
Friday Early On came in the morning and in the afternoon we took the babies to have their heads measured for helmet determination. After all the measurements we decided that we will wait a month and have them remeasured to see if they are improving on their own. We actually learned that Annabel's shape (scaphocephaly) is harder to correct fully on it's own that she may actually benefit the most from the helmet. Johnathan and Mady's shape is considered plagiocephaly and Johnathan is borderline to needing it with Mady being a bit more severe. For them, they probably would fully correct on their own, the helmet will simply speed up the process. Generally the babies would be in them for 3 months (or until they outgrow them), not necessarily having to wear them 23 hours per day, but for sure when they would be on their backs.

So we will see what next month brings. We would really like to avoid this if possible but obviously if things aren't improving on their own then we will get them fitted. The clinic was pretty excited to potentially be fitting all three of a set of triplets so with our permission they took lots of pictures - it was quite a sight to see how this is done! Overall the babies did great during the appointment, we were quite happy since it was naptime and then feeding time!
Developmentally this week Annabel has been reaching up towards her bottle more, Johnathan has reached out to grab the rattle from midline on his back and is doing awesome looking left, and Mady has also been doing awesome looking left and has been doing much better eating (actually crying because she gets hungry now and helps bring the bottle to her!). Their recent weights were Annabel - 11lbs 1oz, Mady - 8lbs 12ozs(great gains lately), and Johnathan 10lbs 7ozs.
