The trip home went well, with us arriving at 12:05 a.m. Sunday morning. The babies transferred well from their car seats to beds and slept until 6:00 a.m. so all was well - until Johnathan woke up Sunday morning with a rash just like Mady's except even worse! We now call them our "Polka Dot Kids". So we dc'd his Amoxicillin and decided to get all three babies into our pediatricians on Monday. Sunday and Monday were rough as Johnathan had a hard time with his bottles, he'd start coughing and then he'd projectile up the whole bottle! On top of this my allergies decided to flair up at the end of our vacation and I was in pretty rough shape Sunday and Monday myself, just now starting to feel a little bit better.
So we were able to get the babies in to Dr. Gessner at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Right away she diagnosed Johnathan and Mady as being allergic to Amoxicillin, she was surprised the ER docs even thought it was Roseola. She was a bit surprised that Mady responded so well to the one dose of Benadryl (hers is almost cleared up) that she may try it again in a few years but Johnathan is clearly allergic as his rash is much worse and he only had a low-dose prescription. So Dr. Gessner looked at everyone's ears and listened to them and everyone is cleared of ear infections - yeah!! So the only one taking anything now is Johnathan, and it's just Benadryl. The bummer part is that Johnathan probably never had an ear infection to start with - I feel so bad that we even started him on the med but I had no idea what to do with us traveling and all. The babies are doing better, finally taking their bottles better again and are just finishing up the tail-end of their colds. I'm not sure if Johnathan will have his lung function test on Thursday or not, I called down and explained the situation and the nurse said we'll make the call tomorrow because if we cancel we won't be able to get him back in until August. Well, I have to take Annabel to her first outpatient PT appointment. I will post pictures later!
