Feeling Better, Sort-of

What an interesting week this has been in NY. Annabel started feeling better on Wednesday, playing actively and a lot more vocal, however, she is still having a rough time with the bottle (drinking is the only time she is now coughing), taking a good 40-45 minutes to drink and sometimes not taking it all.

Yesterday morning Mady broke out in a rash all over and it got worse as the day went on, spreading over her whole body and becoming bigger. Needless to say we got to visit the Batavia hospital last night. I was concerned about it being a reaction to the Amoxicillin but didn't want to just discontinue without having her ears looked at in case she still needed an antiobiotic but I also wondered if it was Roseola as she had had a fever Sunday and Monday night (3-4 days prior which is the timeframe for the rash to show up) and she's not been drinking well (still taking her solids well). The ER doctor thinks it was an allergic reaction to the Amoxicillin so they started her on Zythromax for the last 4 days of treatment but they did not rule out Rosealo either. They did say that normally if a child is sick with Rosealo that they are really sick and she is acting great other than not wanting not drink and does have a dry cough.

What a crazy and exhausting week this has been! It was great to see all of our relatives and overall the babies were good, it's just hard having three not feeling great at the same time. I am hoping that getting the babies back home will relax them and help them to drink better again. Johnathan did eat his solids better again yesterday and today, he started out not doing well at all the beginning of the week - maybe the change in scenery affected him?

On Wednesday the babies did get to try out their swimming pool for the first time as it was beautiful weather and they loved it! Mady got in and started kicking right away, Johnathan wanted to use his hands to splash, and Annabel was timid at first but all of a sudden she just started laughing so hard and started kicking - it was such a fun thing to see! I will definitely post pics when I get a chance once we're home. We're leaving yet this afternoon so hopefully we'll have a good trip home!
