Busy Weekend

Friday afternoon we had Johnathan and Madelyn re-measured to determine if they’ll need helmets to correct their head shapes. Neither of them improved greatly, basically they just grew so we decided to proceed with the helmets. They will get them this Friday morning. Mady’s will be pink and purple with butterflies and Johnathan’s will be camo. They will need to wear them for 2-3 months whenever they are putting pressure on the back of their heads. Luckily this only adds a new appointment every 5 weeks so it won’t be too bad in that regard. I was hoping that Johnathan would be fully out of the harness before starting the helmet but now it will overlap by a couple of weeks. At least he’s too young to really remember!

Saturday we started adding prunes to their oatmeal. Initial faces weren’t too sure of it but Johnathan has been eating it up well, Mady’s doing okay, and Annabel’s doing better than with plain cereal. Saturday afternoon Annabel’s Godparents came to visit. We can’t wait until we can have more people over – only a few more weeks! We are very itchy to get the babies out and about! We bundled up Johnathan and Annabel this weekend at different times and “snuck” them outside around our property for a bit.

Sunday Madelyn started continuously rolling so we now we have to watch her like a hawk! Plus, she’s gotten even worse with rolling on to her tummy while napping, sometimes rolling back over but sometimes raising quite the fit from frustration! Needless to say yesterday’s nap time wasn’t very good for anyone! Johnathan started doing a couple of rolls by himself on Friday and Annabel has started rolling to her side so she’s getting there, she just requires a little bit of assistance yet. And we thought life with three was challenging before – soon they’ll all be moving and we’ll really know what challenging is!

Current weights for the babies are Annabel – 12lbs 11ozs, Madelyn – 10 lbs 5 1/2ozs, and Johnathan 12lbs 3ozs. Johnathan appears to be catching up to Annabel in length. It is funny because Annabel is becoming quite the chunker, her legs are about twice as big as Mady’s!

They are getting soooo big soooo fast. I'm sure you'll be posting pictures of their new helmets...how appropriate is camo for Jonathon and I'm sure there is already a lot of pink and purple in Mady's life. Prunes and cereal don't sound especially appetizing to me so don't fault the kids for making faces. Thanx again for the updates....I really love hearing about the new steps they're at. It won't be long now and they'll really be showing what they're made of and that determination that got them this far.LOL Love Aunt Bette
