Big House, Big Heart

On Sunday we participated in the Big House, Big Heart 1 mile walk at UofM Stadium (yes, we are Michigan fans too!), where we got to walk thru the tunnel and end at the 50 yard line. This was our 2nd year participating, last year B.J. and I, my parents, and my sister’s family walked while the babies were still in the NICU since the race benefits Mott’s Childrens Hospital and the Neurological department. This year our family, both sets of Grandparents, and cousin Renee and her dad, Uncle Steve, walked. It was an exciting day for us because last year we had said that we would have all three babies in the walk this year no matter what it took and we did! And I have to say that with all the uncertainties we were facing at this time last year, it felt SO good!!

We had a very nice time with B.J.’s parents visiting this weekend, it was great to have them here for a longer period of time! On Saturday we want to the Parshalville cider mill and ended up going to Spicers Orchard too because Parshalville was low on apples. Saturday night B.J. and I and my parents went to the farewell service for Pastor Frank who is retiring. We cannot thank him enough for all he did for us last year, he was there for us and the babies thru some very tough times. We wish him well in his retirement and hope we will continue to see him from time to time!

This weekend was super exciting with the babies! Johnathan is now crawling and is trying to pull to stand along the fireplace (of course with supervision) and now Mady is trying to copy him! She is sitting well on her own now and playing with her hands unsupported! Annabel did great with sitting this weekend too and does very well when she does some weight-bearing on her hands to hold her up, especially if against a toy. And get this, this weekend she finally decided it was okay to put weight-bearing on her legs and jump, jump, jump! I remember it took awhile for the other two to want to do this and as usual, it took Annabel longer but she is now there!!

We call U of M shirts "ugly shirts" in our household, but your babies make them look halfway cute! Of course, Benjamin likes to wear ugly shirts, too. :)
