Prayers For The Babies

What a day/week it has been! I will post more later but here is a brief summary just from today. This morning we took all three babies (thank goodness for Mommy's intuition!) to the pediatricians because of their coughs/congestion/wheezing. As it turns out Johnathan was sating 84% and was immediately put on oxygen, given 2 Albuterol treatments and a dose of Prednisone (oral steriod) and was then taken via ambulance to the U. He was admitted and is FINALLY asleep after being pricked and prodded all day. He has viral pneumonia and thus far is doing well, requiring 1.5 liter flow on nasal cannula. They did do a swab of his nose late today that will rule out some other viruses and things like RSV (it would be pretty early in the season for this, but still a possibility). Long term Johnathan should be fine as a result of this, we just need to get him better! We could be coming home as early as tomorrow or we could be here a few days, it just depends on Johnathan and his oxygen requirements.

As for the girls - Annabel (the one I was originally most concerned about) is actually doing the best and will remain on twice a day Flovent (will tell that story later) and Albuterol until she's better, both thru the inhaler. Mady has a right ear infection so she's started on Zythromax and was also wheezing pretty severely so she is now on Albuterol thru the nebulizer. Both of the girls were sating well though (at one point we were worried Mady was going to be coming to the ER too) so we are praying that their's doesn't turn in to pneumonia like Johnathan's. Thankfully all three babies have been acting good thru all of this, overall sleeping well, playing normally, and for the most part eating fine.

So please pray for Johnathan's lungs to get stronger and to not need the oxygen support so he can come home, for all three babies to get over this sickness, for the girls to not get any sicker, and finally for all three to stay healthy this RSV season as it is a big worry of ours. I will update more when I can.
