New happenings and 2 Year Well Child

Thursday morning we successfully got all of us to DMC by 8:15. Mady and Johnathan were a little "off" with the appointment being so early but Annabel had a GREAT session! Thursday afternoon my parents and I took the kids to the Saline 4-H Fair. It still amazes me sometimes how curious people are about triplets and how willing they are to do anything for - case in point that the kids had every kind of animal taken out special for them to pet. They loved it, especially Johnathan!! It was cute seeing all the little girls in their horse showing outfits, to think that someday that might be Annabel! On Thursday Leaps and Bounds called that they could get Annabel in for her aqua therapy session yet that evening, which was fabulous so that Saturday wasn't all appointments. I was a little leary on how she'd do given that we'd had the early morning therapy and were at the fair but she snoozed on the way to the fair and had another great session!! She did really well with weight-bearing, pulling to stand and sitting, and swimming all around, kicking both legs again!

Both Annabel and Johnathan are teething at the moment, I think this has been the worst drooling we've seen to date. Annabel is also going thru a growth spurt - yeah! Annabel has been consistently feeding herself snacks for a long time but hasn't ventured to any real food. The other night we had spaghetti for dinner and I decided to put some on her tray; she started out just playing but before we knew it she was feeding herself!! Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come, them all feeding themselves would be a HUGE help! Friday we took the trio to their 2 year well child. We were shocked to learn that Mady is actually the tallest!
Stats are:
Annabel - 20.72lbs, 32.05inches
Madelyn - 20.28lbs, 32.68inches
Johnathan - 20.94lbs, 31.69inches

So they continue to be neck-in-neck and yes, I have small kids but they are healthy and doing great and Dr. M. isn't worried because we've done a 3-day food study and they are getting more than enough calories that they need to grow. As long as they are growing and not losing she's happy. Johnathan did gain a 1/2lb since his pulmonary appnt two weeks ago (that's 14 grams per day, they want him to gain 10 grams per day with the average child gaining 4!) and that's with a period of mostly drinking and not eating due to the teething! Annabel and Mady's heads haven't grown quite as they'd like, Annabel's mostly due to the shunt and Mady's we will keep an eye on but nothing to worry about at this time - please pray that it stays that way though! Dr. M. is going to have all three come in for a weight check with the nurse in December to make sure that everyone's still on the right track. We did learn that other than the flu shot the trio won't need shots again until they're 4!!

This morning we take the trio to LESA for their group therapy session, the last one of the summer. This evening I'm taking the girls to Leaps and Bounds to get molded for their new orthotics since they have outgrown theirs. Mady will get a new style, ones that will just go above the shoe since she is excelling very nicely in PT! Annabel will hopefully get hinges on hers this time which will help the transition with pulling to stand and crawling to be easier. Tomorrow I take Mady for her Bayley's test at the U and Thursday morning we have Johnathan's genetics appointment - please pray that all goes well with this appointment, it has been looming in my mind for a long time.
