Good News For Annabel

Friday's otolaryngology appointment brought good news for Annabel! The doctor put a scope down her throat thru her nose (brought back BAD memories of the feeding tube but thankfully there was a big dish of sugar water to continue dipping her binky in which helped A LOT) to see if there was any scar tissue from her being intubated. She could not say 100% that there isn't any but she believes that if anything the hoarseness is from her reflux and she will outgrow it - yeah!! She did say that if she continues to have problems and is put under for something else at a later date (she will eventually need an MRI) that they can then go in and look further and if they were to find scar tissue they would simply go in and cut the tissue which would allow the vocal cords to vibrate properly. As much as it wasn't fun for Annabel, it was kind of neat because the whole procedure was displayed on a tv screen that I was able to see. I was even given a picture of her throat and vocal cords - I was a little surprised with that!

Further good news for Annabel is that B.J. and I have both thought we've heard her finding her voice to babble some over the weekend so that has been a huge relief!

I am so happy to hear that your family is thriving so well! We think about and pray for you all often. Thank Brenda a lot for keeping us so informed. My grandma is always asking how you guys are doing. I wish she knew how to use the computer so she could see all the wonderful pictures. You're children are beautiful!!! Take care and enjoy every moment (Even the aweful ones, they make the great ones so much better)because they go so quickly as you already know.
