Happy 1st Father's Day B.J.! What an awesome day to celebrate the lives of our beautiful babies and the fact that we were chosen to be their parents! It is crazy to think that a year ago today I was in the hospital for the first time. It was definitely a much more enjoyable day this year!Friday I took Johnathan for his audiology and ENT appointments. He had a hearing test done and it showed that his hearing loss in his right ear is stable, his left ear they are hoping to be able to fully test next time with a special device that can be used once he is a little older (his next appointment is mid-September). This is good news because the longer the loss is stable, the higher chance that the loss was caused by something after birth (i.e. the oxygen requirements, some of
the meds he was on, etc. - which is what we believe the loss was from) and not something genetic or as a result of something in the womb. The audiologist was also able to check his ears to see if there is any extra fluid and everything looked great so that was also very encouraging! In the future (once he no longer needs to be sedated) the ENT doctor may discuss performing a CT scan of the ear but as of now we're thinking there is no need for this because a) we don't want to subject him to any extra radiation than necessary and b) we believe the loss is from after birth so the CT scan really won't show us anything. I felt so bad for the little man though - his audiology appointment was first and then his ENT and he fell asleep in between (they were during naptime) and had to be woken just to get his ears cleaned. He was NOT happy!!

This is the appointment where we believe Annabel will be diagnosed with mild CP in her left hand, and possibly her left leg as well. Please pray that all goes well for all t
hree babies and that there are no surprises for us regarding the state of how they're developing. We are so proud of how the babies are doing and although Annabel does need a little extra help physically, overall she really is doing awesome! Tuesday afternoon Mady and Johnathan will get their new helmets which should be a fun night for us after them having a week and a half break!
This past week Johnathan has been working on waving, Annabel has been using her left hand more, especially when we're working with her, and Mady has learned to feed herself her puffs! Mady has also become a little rock star, playing with her music toy! And yes, that is Annabel propped up on Hershey. Daddy put her there and they stayed like that for quite a w
hile!
