It’s been a busy week since I last posted! The pictures posted are from the last week. Some new things first...The biggest is that Annabel said “ma-ma” last Thursday!! Granted, she was sitting on my Dad’s lap but she said it! She has also been rolling on her own a lot this morning (now that the weather is nice they’re finally in shorts and I swear, it seems that she only rolls on her own when you get her out of pants!). She’s also been reaching up to her right foot a lot lately. As I’ve said before, she’s just a little behind her siblings but seems to get there eventually. It is so rewarding to see her do all these thing
s! Mady learned to take off her helmet Tuesday. Apparently in the morning when my Mom was putting it back on she “helped” my Mom by giving her the strap. Then in the afternoon I was doing something else and looked over and all of a sudden she had it off and was sucking on it, holding it up to look at it! She is such a stinker! Johnathan has decided to help Mady get hers off now, there’s a circle on the top that’s open and he gets his hand in hers on the back and yanks it up and of course she screams bloody murder. Johnathan’s other new things are that he likes to bang his head (against people, against the crib, whate
ver), likes to kick his feet against the crib, and is now sucking on the crib spindles. We have thise new wedge from our PT that helps strengthen the babies backs. They all do well with it but Johnathan also uses it for something else, to pull himself up on! Johnathan is also finally eating better off the spoon! And he has done the best taking the fruit puffs (the girls gagged a bit so we’re waiting to try them again). The girls are doing great with solids though – thru the stage 1’s, starting on stage 2’s (they’ve had mac&cheese and yogurt and will get meats soon!). Their current weights are – Annabe
l 15lbs 1 1/2ozs, Madelyn 12lbs 12ozs, and Johnathan 14lbs 11ozs.Last Thursday my parents and I took the babies to Kensington Farm for Early On day at the Farm. The weather was great and the babies were very good. Mady even got to pet a cow. I can imagine that the babies will love going there in another year or two!
Over the weekend we went to NY for the first time for the Buckley side to meet the babies. We definitely learned a few things about traveling with them, especially since we take the dogs too (they were good girls, thankfully!)! What we learned is that for now on we will be traveling at night for awhile. They did great on the way out, sleeping most of the way and when we arrived at 2:00 a.m. we put them back down and they fussed for a few
minutes but fell back asleep and lasted until 8:00 a.m.! The drive home, however, was miserable! We left at 10:00 a.m. and had to stop twice for feedings (they didn’t eat well), not getting home until 7:30. There was only about one 2 hour stretch where there wasn’t a baby fussing. Not fun! It was a great time in NY though! B.J.’s parents bought the babies a jumperoo and boy did Johnathan have fun in that! The babies behaved very well (we did learn that Mady gets a little u
pset when she’s tired and there’s a lot of people talking and commotion) and it was great for them to meet all their relatives and especially nice for them to meet their Great-Grandmas and get pictures with them.

We ended up having a scare early this week when Great-Grandma Years went in to the hospital for congestive heart failure. Thankfully the medicines are working and she’ll be released yet this week. It did ma
ke it all the more special that she saw the babies last weekend. Please pray for her continued good health and strength for her.
On Tuesday morning Annabel had her first MRI. Everything went well although she did have to be intubated. Needless to say it was hard to see her at first in recovery, she was so out of it and was not at all happy. Once Mommy gave her bottle and rocked her she was a happy girl again! We’ll get the results at her a
ppointment next Thursday. I really don’t expect any negative results because it seems as if the shunt has continued to work properly, the only thing would be if there was some part of the brain where the spinal fluid wasn’t draining properly and another surgery would be required – so please pray that is not the case!
