Bishop Lake Campground at Brighton Recreation Area

This past weekend we went camping at Brighton Rec. This campground is very nice, very kid and dog friendly, great trails, a nice beach, and the best part is that it's 15 minutes from home! Things went very well with this trip, it was much easier setting up, etc. since we had worked out the bugs last weekend. Friday was beautiful and the kids were able to play outside for quite awhile before bed. Saturday it was rainy in the morning (B.J. took Annabel to hippotherapy while I stayed at the campground with Mady and Johnathan and the dogs) but it cleared up enough for me to take everyone on a walk before B.J. got back. It finally cleared up Saturday afternoon although it didn't get real warm but it was warm enough to be outside, thank goodness, much better than the previous weekend!

So during the trip the kids learned a few new things. Madelyn ate a whole small popsicle by herself (very messy but what better time to learn than when you're outside?), Johnathan and Madelyn ate pretzel rods for the first time, the kids played with lots of bubbles, Johnathan learned to climb out of the pack-n-play although unlike Mady he kept trying to do it over and over, Johnathan also decided to drink out of the dogs water bowl, all of a sudden B.J. and I look over and he's on all fours with his face in, when he came up he was covered in water (told B.J. the've definitely been building their immune systems on these trips), we have also decided to try discontinuing Annabel's Flovent inhaler at least until winter, hopefully all will go well, and finally, the best news is that Johnathan and Mady slept together in the bottom bed! The first night he wasn't too happy and got sick from being upset but after that he was fine with it other than Saturday night the two learned to watch us from the window and stayed up until 10:00! They were really cute, I kept finding them snuggled up together and Saturday morning (not so cute) they were up at 5:00 a.m. chitt-chatting with each other. Overall our camping trips have been fun so far, crazy but fun. Thank goodness we bought the superyards, they work great for the kids and the dogs!

This weekend we will actually be home for once, other than my cousins graduation party and Annabel's hippotherapy. We bought the kids a swingset for their b-day and need to get going on putting it together so it will be done for their party. I cannot believe my little babies are going to be 2 next month! Where has the time gone? Tonight we had the kids outside for awhile after dinner with all the neighborhood kids and I have to admit I got a little choked up seeing them all interacting and my kids actually keeping up with them!
